Our First Lost Landmarks Educational Project!

Part of our goal with the Lost Landmarks is to help schools, both on the informational level by teaching students about local history, and also to help provide funding for worthwhile projects/organizations. The Huntington Beach High School Foundation (HBHSF) was established in 1995, to help inspire and promote excellence for all students at the school. To date, the HBHSF has sponsored many projects to help make the high school a better place for students across academics, athletics, and the arts – the funded projects have helped support every facet of the school.  We are so impressed by what is being done by the HBHSF that we wanted to help the cause. That’s why we’ve created a merchandise collection inspired by a Lost Landmark located right on campus.

The Huntington Cinema opened as Edwards’ second Orange County location, on Christmas Day, 1964, and served Huntington Beach for thirty-four years. The theatre’s iconic, bright orange “Huntington” sign was rescued in 1998 when Huntington Beach High School’s media department helped spearhead a donation drive to save the sign. It was installed on the campus gymnasium in the summer of 1998 and still hangs there today. 

Our “Huntington Cinema” collection was created to help the HBHSF, and that’s why 100% of ALL profits generated by the collection will go towards a donation to the HBHSF. The special t-shirt, hoodie, and coffee cup design faithfully replicate the exact sign in all of its glory. This limited-edition collection is our first Lost Landmarks' Educational Project, the first of many that we plan. So own your piece of history, a special nostalgic memento that will bring back memories and help fund future projects!
