Collection: Driftwood Restaurant & Golf Course

The nine-hole Driftwood Golf Course was a local favorite. Opened in the mid-1960s, even the actor James Garner used to regularly come down from Los Angeles to play. The nine-hole, par-three chip-and-putt public course on the Driftwood site was beloved by locals; a chance to play by the ocean (even if plenty of errant balls found their way onto both mobile home parks and hotel properties). The companion restaurant was another local favorite. The course (and restaurant) was in a redevelopment area of Huntington Beach and was closed as part of the hotel development in the early 2000's.
